My cheat sheet for setting up the Raspberry Pi 5:

• attempt to fix the (stupid) PD issue:
  • edit the EEPROM configuration file: sudo -E rpi-eeprom-config --edit
  • add/edit the line PSU_MAX_CURRENT=5000
  • add/edit the line usb_max_current_enable=1
